Lukoil to finish 1st stage of Uzbek gas processing plant in Dec

TASHKENT, Jun 14 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Lukoil will finish construction of the first stage of a U.S. $2.66 billion gas processing plant at the Kandym group of fields in Uzbekistan in December, Bakhodyr Siddikov, director at Uzbek national holding Uzbekneftegaz’ unit Neftegazinvest, said on Wednesday at a session of the Tashkent international press club.

“Regarding the project, we’ve decide to speed up implementation of the project together with the Russian partner. The first stage, initially planned for June 2018, will be finished in December 2017,” he said, adding that 93% of the planned equipment have been delivered to the construction site.

In 2015, Lukoil and a consortium led by Hyundai Engineering signed a contract for equipment and construction of the Kandym gas processing facility. The plant will have a processing capacity of 8.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The first stage also includes construction of 77 project wells, six multiple well platforms, two assembly units, an export gas pipeline, and other infrastructure with investment standing at $3.3 billion.
